Abstract Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 18m off Mozambique Island, Mozambique (15.0645°S; 40.785°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa, between 08 February 2012 and 01 May 2021. Note that the data that falls outside of these dates is not from the deployment. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures.
Methods The raw data was collected using Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. The subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 18m off Mozambique Island, Mozambique (15.0645°S; 40.785°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa. The instrument measured hourly temperature readings between 08 February 2012 and 01 May 2021.
