Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 3m off Ystervarkpunt (34.395°S; 21.7305°E), along the south coast of South Africa, between 27 January 1998 and 13 July 1998. Note that the data that falls outside of these dates is not from the deployment. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
Methods | The raw data was collected using Underwater temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. The subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 3m off Ystervarkpunt (34.395°S; 21.7305°E), along the south coast of South Africa. The instrument(s) measured hourly temperature readings between 27 January 1998 and 13 July 1998. |
