Abstract | Here we present processed hourly subsurface temperatures from Underwater Temperature Records (UTRs) located at a depth of 18m off Sodwana Bay (27.41483°S 32.72667°E), along the east coast of South Africa, between 07 June 1997 and 19 November 1997. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. |
Methods | A subsurface-mounted UTR was deployed at a depth of 18m off Sodwana Bay (27.41483°S; 32.72667°E), along the east coast of South Africa. The instrument measured hourly temperature readings between 07 June 1997 10h00 and 19 November 1997 07h00. |
