Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 3m off Ystervarkpunt (34.395°S; 21.7305°E), along the south coast of South Africa, between 21 November 2019 and 05 August 2022. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
Methods | The raw data was collected using Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. The subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 3m off Ystervarkpunt (34.395°S; 21.7305°E), along the south coast of South Africa. The instrument(s) measured hourly temperature readings between 21 November 2019 and 05 August 2022. |
