Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 4m off Mosterts Hoek (34.1978°S 24.7688°E), along the east coast of South Africa, between 27 January 1993 and 06 July 1993. Note that the data that falls outside of these dates is not from the deployment. At selected sites around South Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
Methods | The raw data was collected using a UTR that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. A subsurface-mounted UTR was deployed at a depth of 4m off Mosterts Hoek (34.1978°S 24.7688°E), along the east coast of South Africa. The instrument(s) measured hourly temperature(s) readings between 27 January 1993 and 06 July 1993. |
