Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 11m off Agate Terrace, Port St. Johns, South Africa (-31.6220°S 29.5714°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa, between 30 March 2012 and 29 August 2012. Note that the data that falls outside of these dates is not from the deployment. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperatures in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
Methods | The raw data was collected using Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) that was configured to sample every 30 minutes. The subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 11m off Agate Terrace, Port St. Johns, South Africa (-31.6220°S; 29.5714°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa. The instrument measured half-hourly temperature readings between 30 March 2012 and 29 August 2012. |
