Abstract The Integrated Ecosystem Programme: Southern Benguela (IEP:SB) was conducted on the Algoa Voyage 293 in August 2023. This programme serves as a multi-disciplinary and multi-institutional platform aimed at conducting scientific research in the Southern Benguela region. It also fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange. The primary objective is to develop ecosystem indicators—physical, chemical, planktonic, microbial, seabird, and benthic—that can be utilised for effective monitoring and ecosystem-based management.
