Abstract	Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 18.1m off Pondoland (31.2930°S 30.0168°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa, between 25 July 2013 and 02 July 2014. Note that the data that falls outside of these dates is not from the deployment. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures.
Methods	The raw data was collected using an Underwater Temperature Recorder (UTR) that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. A subsurface-mounted, Underwater Temperature Recorder (UTR) was deployed at a depth of 18.1m off Pondoland (31.2930°S; 30.0168°E), along the east coast of Southern Africa. The instrument(s) measured hourly temperature(s) readings between 25 July 2013 and 02 July 2014.
