Abstract	The Plankton Dynamics Cruise was conducted on the Africana Voyage 007 between 9 March and 22 March 1983. Research was conducted off of the west coast of South Africa between Cape Town and St Helena Bay. The aim of the cruise was to follow a patch of newly upwelled water and to examine changes in the plankton over a 12 day period.
