Abstract | Here we present raw temperatures from Underwater Temperature Recorders (UTRs) located at a depth of 5m off Mangolds Pool, South Africa (34.0487°S; 25.5867°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa, between 20 November 2003 and 20 June 2004. Note that the data that falls outside of these dates is not from the deployment. At selected sites around Southern Africa, UTRs have been used to obtain long-term records of bottom temperature in the nearshore environment, at depths ranging from 2m to 34m. Note that for some deployments, two UTRs were deployed to simultaneously record bottom temperatures. |
Methods | The raw data was collected using Underwater Temperature Recorder(s) (UTR) that was configured to sample every 60 minutes. The subsurface-mounted UTR was deployed at a depth of 5m off Mangolds Pool, South Africa (-34.0487°S; 25.5867°E), along the south coast of Southern Africa. The instrument measured hourly temperature readings between 20 November 2003 and 20 June 2004. |
