Compilation of validated and processed data (deck, flow and count) from the St Helena Bay Monitoring Line (SHBML) on the Algoa Voyage 091, February 2001

Compilation of processed and validated data of mesozooplankton along the St Helena Bay Monitoring Line (SHBML) (now under the Integrated Ecosystem Programme: Southern Benguela (IEP:SB)) on the Algoa, Voyage 091, from 05 to 08 February 2001. This includes the validated flow, processed counts and validated ship`s information. This is ready for analysis by a user. This is a long-term monitoring line conducted off the coast of Elands/St Helena Bay on the west coast of South Africa. SHBML started...

Effectiveness of Table Mountain National Park Marine Protected Area project (2017-2021)

Intertidal rocky shores are the most accessible marine habitats and therefore heavily impacted by harvesting. In recent years, they have also been increasingly invaded by alien species, which compounds the effects of harvesting on rocky shore community composition and functioning. Recent survey data, combined with historical data from 1970, were used to assess temporal changes over the intervening period in rocky shore communities at two sites (Wireless Point and Wireless Island).

Carbonate chemistry time-series from discrete sampling at thirteen sites in Algoa Bay, South Africa, 2018 - 2020

Coastal monthly carbonate chemistry data and other associated physico-chemical parameters from Algoa Bay, on the temperate south coast of South Africa. Eight offshore and five inshore sites were sampled. Temperature, salinity and dissolved oxygen were measured at each offshore site, and temperature was measured at each inshore site. At each offshore and inshore site, a single sea water sample was collected at the surface for later analysis of pH and total alkalinity (TA) in the laboratory....

West Coast Cetacean Distribution and Abundance Survey on the Ellen Kuzwayo Voyage 126, October 2014

This West Coast Cetacean Distribution and Abundance Survey was conducted on the Ellen Kuzwayo Voyage 126, from 28 October to 10 November, 2014. The survey was planned for the region between Dassen Island and Groenriviermond up the west coast. The cruise track of the Ellen Kuzwayo is closely linked to that of the Algoa and while the latter was engaged in offshore and onshore parallel tracks up to the 250m isobaths, the former ran a saw tooth grid survey starting inshore Dassen Island (moving...
